Brambletye, an independent, co-educational prep boarding and day school in West Sussex began working with School Website to develop a new website after meeting at BETT 2009.

Kate Atkin, Admissions Registrar at Brambletye explains why the school decided to embark upon the project: "At a time when we are surrounded by talk of recession, it is essential that schools engage with as wide an audience as possible, appealing to prospective parents whilst also maintain relationships with existing parents".

Kate continues: "The website is often the first port of call for parents considering a school for their children – an increase in the number of school admissions made through the website has certainly reflected this."

Consequently it was felt that Brambletye’s existing website had become tired and dated and needed a refresh to ensure a true representation of the school’s vibrant character.

Solution & Benefits

Brambletye knew from the start that it would work with an external design agency. "As Brambletye staff lacked the training to develop a brand new website, we needed to outsource the project and work with a design company” Kate states. “School Website’s experience within the education sector was a huge selling point for us."

The school felt it was crucial to keep their website full with up to the minute information. By using the School Website Content Management System this process was quick, simple and easy-to-learn. The finished website retains the schools sense of history and tradition but also embraces some of the latest web technology. It gives a real flavour for life at Brambletye and acts as a window for parents both prospective and current, particularly for those whose children are boarding who want to see what is taking place at the school.

Kate concludes: "The success that we have had with our website has been fantastic. We have had a great deal of positive feedback and truly believe it is an excellent gateway for parents to be part of the school community."
